Acupuncture
Tweed House Veterinary Surgery is able to offer acupunture for the treatment of a variety of conditions in companion animals. We use the Western, scientific approach, which treats animals according to neurophysiological principles.
Acupuncture is most commonly used to treat painful conditions such as osteoarthritis and muscular pain. However, it has been shown to be an effective treatment for other diseases such as intestinal, bladder and skin problems.
Most animals accept acupuncture well, but a small number may require sedation. Acupuncture is usually carried out once a week for about four weeks to assess the effects. After this, ‘top up’ sessions may be required.
